Smoky Mountain Living

                                    Great Smoky Mountains
                                Almond, North Carolina
One of my most favorite places to go is The Smoky Mountains in North Carolina. For about 15 years my family would rent a cabin www.greatsmokyscabinrentals.com and just explore what the mountains have to offer. When my girls were little, our days were filled with splashing around in the cute mountain side creeks, tubing down the freezing Deep Creek River, and spending time in quaint downtown Bryson City checking out their little shops.
As my girls became adults, our days turned into sometimes nerve wrecking hikes off the Blue Ridge Mountain trails, white water rafting down the numerous rivers, and zip lining the mountain gorge. Things have changed a bit but spending time together has just made life that more fun.
Our adventures have also now included our three dogs. My two, Nedd and Nolee, and my granddog Porter who are always up for a good hike!

The views are always spectacular. After taking a short few mile hike to the Wesser Bald Lookout tower on the Appalachian Trail. It wasn't enough that you are on the top of this beautiful mountain, the ability to climb at 30-foot tower allows you to get a 360 degree view of the surrounding mountains.
Views of Lake Fontana are always gorgeous!

This little baby is always up for a good hike.

There is truly nothing better than spending time with family.
